An Amazing Week

I did mentioned to you in my last posting, that there’s plenty of interesting incidents coming our way the next few months and one remarkable achievement was Real Madrid’s 30th league victory.

Even though football is a team game but at times one brilliant individual can change the outcome of a match and that can be verified by yesterday’s Real Madrid performance against Real Mallorca, though David Beckham had to watch from the sidelines, due to an ankle injury forcing him into a premature departure after 65 minutes, it was him who was instrumental in making Real Madrid a serious title contender towards the second half of the Spanish La League Campaign., ‘‘out of the cold’’ when everyone thought it was over for Beckham (except him) he proved to the entire world, there’s still plenty left to be seen from Mr. David Beckham. This is the third time he has proven the world is wrong to make a conclusion on him and he never fails to amaze me with his persistence!

Yesterday marked the opening of Malaysia’s high profile legal case of Altantuya Shaariibuu’s murder trial. One of the accused is the well oiled, well connected and well known political analyst…. Razak Baginda, all this while I was in the opinion that he had a foreign root but only lately found that he was born and bread in Malaysia. He was a high flyer and was one of the inner circles of Najib Razak, he was what Ed Balls is to Gordon Brown (the future Prime Minister of Great Britain). It will not be too much if I say that he would have landed himself a blue chip portfolio in Najib’s cabinet or at the very least become Najib’s spin doctor.

But it is God who has the last say, I am not here to judge whether he did or not as well as to judge the integrity of the Malaysian judiciary system but what attracted me to write about him is his coolness and composure about the whole episode and the way his wife handling the situation. She and her family members were there to lend ‘‘moral’’ support by donning specially printed t-shirts, in white. She reminds me of a song, sung by the then member of ‘‘The Jackson’s’’ Michael, which goes- I’’ll be There, and she amaze me with her undivided belief.

And finally for today, I remember reading during my teen’s, a book of prophecies by the great Nostradamus. One of his predictions was that of the end of the world, now many of his predictions have become a reality and I am dumbfounded by his astrological ability. In his prediction he foretell that the world will come to an end somewhere in the year 3600 but I was perplexed by what I read in a foreign newspaper which when on to mention that Sir Isaac Newton, predicted that world would come to an end in the year 2060!!! Exactly 3 years after PM Badawi’s vision 2057……!!!!! And exactly 53 years from now…..!!!!!! and how amazingly the press statement cut short of my desire to live for 100 years

Its time to get the book ‘’1000 Places to See Before You Die‘’ by Patricia Schultz
